Have you felt grumpy from time to time?  Or worse, most of the time?  The cool thing is that we get to decide what makes us happy or not happy.  As tough as it can be at times, there is a silver lining around all dark clouds.  The sun always shines above the clouds.  I’m sure we could think of a few more cliches, but I think you get the idea.  decide to be happyFrom the Mayo Clinic:

The long-term activation of the stress-response system — and the subsequent overexposure to cortisol and other stress hormones — can disrupt almost all your body’s processes. This puts you at increased risk of numerous health problems, including:

  • Heart disease
  • Sleep problems
  • Digestive problems
  • Depression
  • Obesity
  • Memory impairment
  • Worsening of skin conditions, such as eczema

This is why it is important to have stress management strategies.  What do I mean by that?  Stress management strategies include:

  • Eating a healthy diet and getting regular exercise and plenty of sleep
  • Practicing relaxation techniques
  • Fostering healthy friendships
  • Having a sense of humor
  • Seeking professional counseling when needed

This post is from your South Calgary Family Chiropractic chiropractor.  There are many variables in having a successful healthy life.  Being happy is part of it!  If this was a Star Trek blog, Captain Picard would say, “Make it so!”
