There are many types of neck pain. Acute neck pain is pain somebody feels after a traumatic event such as a motor vehicle accident. Chronic neck pain is pain that lasts over weeks, months or even years. The pain can come and go or be constant.
Chiropractic may help out with your neck pain. The first thing to do is to get examined and evaluated by a chiropractor. Once they get the results, they can determine if chiropractic can help. In many cases, they can.
Chronic neck pain is usually accompanied by inflammation. Inflammation is a good thing, when required, to promote repair and healing. However, chronic inflammation may lead to degeneration such as osteoarthritis, periodontitis, atherosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and even cancer (e.g., gallbladder carcinoma) depending on what tissue the inflammation is found it.
A healthy neck is one that has no inflammation in it. If it is sore, it is most likely accompanied by inflammation. Get it checked out!
